Behavior of plaster with water-repellent additive under natural aging

This research evaluates the behavior of plaster with a water-repellent additive when submitted to natural aging process. Casting and silane/siloxane-based were used as materials. The water/plaster ratio was set at 0.7 contents 0.2% 0.4% used, in relation mass. Plaster pastes without (reference) containing mass evaluated ‘zero’ age after 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 days aging. After aging, it observed that mechanical properties material (compressive strength hardness) did not undergo significant variations remained above minimum required by standard. addition resulted considerable reduction water absorption, demonstrating repellency capacity material, compared reference specimen.
